PLAY WITH THE WIND
There is music in the air!
WE PLAY WITH THE WIND
WE PLAY IN THE WIND
WE MAKE WIND CHIMES
Q- Do you sell on line?
A- Not yet but we hope to have an on line store soon.
In the meantime keep an eye on our site to see
what art and craft shows and conventions we will
be attenting so you can see us live and in person.
Q- What do you use to make your wind chimes?
A- Just about anything that will make a sound when struck. Q- Do you have a store?
Glass, wood, PVC pipe, Bamboo, sea shells, copper tubeing.
Just about anything.
Q- Are any of the sea shells you use for your wind chimes from endangered species?
A- ABSOUTLY NOT !!
A- No.
Q- Where can I purchase a wind chime from Play With The Wind.
A- For now at art and craft shows and conventions we attend.
Q- I don't really have a place to hang a wind chime outside.
Can I hang one indoors?
A- Of course. Just hang in near an open window or fan and enjoy the sound.
Q- Does a wind chime need any special care?
A- Anything exposed to the elements such as sun, wind, and rain will be effected by them.
Your wind chime should be inspected from time to time to check for wear. If the lines
have become brittle they should be replaced. Hanging your wind chime in a sheltered spot
will delay the effect.
Q- Can wind chimes actually predict the weather?
A- Not exactly predict. But changes in wind direction can fortel a comming storm. Depending on where
hang your wind chime it can give warning of a change in the weather.
Q- What is a "furin"?
A- A furin is a type of Japanese wind chime. It is a small bell with a long paper sail suspended from the
clapper. It is a custom to write messages of luck on the sail. It is hung from the eves of the house.
It is said that the sound helps you fell cool even on the hottest of days.
Q- Can I buy a furin from Play With The Wind?
A- We will try to have them for craft shows but we can't make any promises. If they prove to be
popular then we will try to have them more often.
Q- Do you make all your wind chimes?
A- There are not enough hours in a day to do that. We have several suppliers
Q- Do you make/sell "tuned" wind chimes ?
A- No. We are going to leave the tuned wind chimes to the expensive garden centers.
We'd rather direct our efforts to making more unique and affordable designs for our chimes.
Q- Do you make/sell other wind toys besides wind chimes?
A- Yes and No. We sometimes offer yard flags, wind socks, and wind spinners.
We however do not make them ourselves.
Q- I have something special in mind. Do you do custom designs?
A- E-mail us a description or better yet a sketch of your idea and we'll go from there.
Q- Can I suggest or invite you to a arts and crafts show near me?
A- Absoutly! We are always interested in new places to visit. Can't make any promises
that we can come. But we'd love to hear from you.
Just drop us an e-mail at musicintheair@playwiththewind.net Write "Show" in the subject bar.
Include contact names, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and web site if they have one.
Q- Cool ! Our church has this great Craft show every summer. How do you decide if you
attend a show or not? Our show is really awesome, I know you'd like it.
A- We have a number of things to consider before we pack up our wind toys and go out to play.
First is distance to travel. It isn't cost effective to travel a thousand miles for a one day
show attended by a hundred people.
Second is actual cost. Some shows charge $300 or more for a table.
Depending on the State some require permits and licenses. (Some are free some are not).
Third is our own personal schedule. We are a family run business. We don't have a large
staff so we often need to make a decision based personal needs. For example we don't do
shows over the Christmas holiday.
